Why Pray

Heard…forgiven…healed. What promise and hope! Many of us desire this rich experience and transformative power in our lives. But the reality is, the idea of prayer can leave us feeling lost, unpracticed or frustrated. Jesus welcomes us in this human condition and beckons us to embrace something much bigger than ourselves; “Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come…your will God.” Why pray? Because His kingdom is daily seeking earth…his will is longing to be realized in our lives…His desire is a life transformed.

Who is Prayer For?

Many times we unintentionally assign prayer to the super-spiritual, power-house, giants of the faith. But Jesus invites ALL who are called by his name. Yep. That’s you, that’s me. Jesus demystified & normalized prayer and he made it available to the masses. Not only did he welcome us to approach him but he called us to an ownership, a bold pursuit of Him; “Let us therefore come BOLDLY to the throne of grace that we may find mercy and grace in time of need.” Heb. 4:16 Prayer is not for those who already have it together. It is for those normal people, like you and me, who are aware of their deep need and their very present God.

Where Can I Pray?

Jesus invited us to pray anywhere and at all times, in secret and in public. But He emphasized the power that is present when two or more are gathered in his name. At Denver United, we invite you to join in this great mystery, as we gather in His name, each week, and touch heaven together. For more information, contact Pastor Mauri Brendle.
