Rob sensed God’s call to pioneer Denver United after serving for eight years at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. A civil engineer by training, Rob graduated from Duke University, served as an officer in the U.S. Army, and pursued theological studies at The King’s Seminary. He is the author of In The Meantime: The Practice of Proactive Waiting. Rob and his wife, Mauri, love skiing and mountain biking with their three kids.
Darius provides leadership for our business operations, executive staff, and serves as one of our primary communicators. He is a graduate of Morris Brown College and is pursuing graduate studies at Denver Seminary. With a background in pastoral ministry and organizational leadership, he spent eleven years on staff at New Birth Church in Lithonia, Georgia. He is married to Chajay and they have four beautiful children. Darius enjoys playing basketball, skiing, competition of all kinds, and anything “gluten free”.
Daniel is a husband to Audrey and a father to three amazing children Madelyn, Caleb and Emilia. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Denver Seminary receiving his masters in spiritual formation. Daniel enjoys gardening, fishing, and hiking. He is passionate about leading our church in growing a transformative intimacy with Christ, as well as fostering authentic Christ-centered community. Daniel gives primary oversight to leading our staff and ministries, helping ensure that we are faithfully trying to live out the vision God has given us as a church.
Mauri was the founding Children’s Pastor at Denver United where she developed The Kingdom children’s space and The Never Ending Story children’s curriculum. Currently she leads our United Prayer and United Women’s ministry and contributes to the overall vision of Denver United. Mauri was a graduate of Oral Roberts University and served for five years at New Life Church. Mauri and Rob spend their free time on the sidelines of the basketball court, renovating old houses and enjoying Denver city life with their three cool kids.
Neil leads all things connection and missions. If you’re new to Denver United, Neil is your guy. He has a passion for helping others to find their fit within the church and while also helping to build bridges with our local and global communities. Neil served for eight years in pastoral ministry in Blue Springs, MO. He is married to his lovely wife Katie and has four wonderful children.
Logan provides leadership for United Student Ministries, serving grades 6th through 12th. He is a graduate of Shepherd University and currently pursuing a masters in leadership from Denver Seminary. He is passionate about engaging teens and partnering with parents in their student’s lifelong pursuit of Christ and his purpose in their lives. This West Virginia native and his wife, Cayla, live in Littleton with their German Shorthair, Dirk. Logan can be found playing basketball or adventuring the CO mountains with Cayla in his free time.
Christine leads and provides oversight of facilities, finances, and human resources for the church. She develops sustainable processes and healthy procedures for behind-the-scenes church business and staff development. Christine, her husband Doug, and their kids love to hike beautiful Colorado, travel together and relax with friends.
Lyndsi provides direction, design and leadership for the creative areas of Denver United. She graduated from the University of Colorado as a bachelor of Art History, from RMCaD as a bachelor of fine arts in 3D Animation, and from Central St. Martins as a master in Character Animation. She is newly married to her freakishly musical husband, Drew and they enjoy doing everything in the city and nothing outdoors. Ever.
George leads our Young Adults ministry which includes large and small gatherings, city-wide meet ups and specific Y.A. small groups. He and his wife Christie live in Aurora with their two boys, Noah and Levi. He enjoys arguing with people about anything sports related, playing the drums, and any kind of sour candy.
Cason provides pastoral leadership for the Denver United Worship Team. His passion is to provide clear communication and structure to rehearsals, workshops, and Sunday mornings. Helping lead people into God’s presence through music is something he truly feels called to do. He and his wife, Laura, have both grown up in Colorado. They enjoy life with friends, family and their newborn baby boy August!
Pat and Melodie have been married 35 years and their oldest daughter, Rachel and her husband Terry attend Denver United. They have one younger daughter, Megan and one granddaughter Tianna. They began attending and serving at Denver United in 2010.
Maurice and Shelly Archuleta are fun loving people and are 100% sure that living in community life of the church is where it’s at. They can be found camping, biking, kayaking and meeting spontaneously for ice cream with anyone wanting to hang out. For the past 25 years, they have owned a health clinic in the inner city, serving the underprivileged. They have had led small groups for 30 years and LOVE cultivating deep relationships.
Bob and Lan Battenhouse have been married for 50 years, have three grown children and five grandchildren. Bob is a retired engineer, currently a Registered Psychotherapist. Lan is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Bob serves on the Life Safety Team; Lan on the prayer team. Together they counsel couples.
Andy is an active entrepreneur & medical sales rep for Stryker Nav who loves watching his boys play basketball and soccer. Mindy is a worshipping, stay at home Mom who loves all things food, mountains and their 3 teenage boys: Lane (17 – senior), Chase (14 – freshman) and Blake (12 – 7th grade).
Young at heart Colorado natives, David and Sherri have 5 married children and are blessed with 13 Grandchildren. David works in the technology field as Vice President of Global Sales; Sherri is a Doula, Life Coach and member of the Human Resource team at NCBA.
The Gailis Family joined Denver United two years ago when they relocated to the States after serving over 25 years as missionaries in Russia, Latvia, China and Indonesia. The highlights of their ministry included planting a church, founding a private school, serving as family counselors, and traveling to other nations to lead pastor’s conferences. Arvis is Latvian by birth and a child of God by choice. He shares how God has truly ordained his steps from his conversion to Christianity before the fall of the Soviet Union. Kyra met Arvis while serving as a teacher in a missionary school in Moscow, Russia. She has worked as a school principal in each of the countries they have lived. Their adult children, Marlena and Ostins, are away at university but enjoy worshiping at DU when they are home from school.
Anthony and Vontrice live in Denver’s Hampden South neighborhood. Originally
from Florida, they have called Colorado home since 2014. Vontrice is an insurance
agent and Anthony is an assistant professor of Christian theology at Southeastern
University. Currently, they are in the process of adopting an 11 year old girl.
Dramatically rescued and transformed by Jesus as young adults from using and selling drugs, Bob and Linda were trained as lay leaders in the local church. They are multi-generation Colorado natives, married 45 years with two children and four grand kids. Semi-retired, they serve at DUC in many roles as Elders, bible study leader/teacher, mentor, advisor and board member.
The Le Peaus love all things Colorado! Steve and Kristen spend their work days selling real estate across Denver and their free time enjoying the city’s culture and the mountains’ adventure with their family. They have been at DUC since the beginning and love being a part of God’s work in the city.
Efrain and Adriana got married in 1998 in the city of El Paso, Texas. During our 20 year marriage, God gave them three beautiful daughters: Genesis, Joana, and Sarah. They have enriched their family with many adventures and memories. Genesis will start her sophomore year at Colorado Christian University and Joana is in her senior year of high school, while Sarah has started her freshman year of high school. They live in Brighton, CO and love serving the Denver United Church family.
George and Michele live in Aurora, and have been in Colorado for 33 years. George is an account executive for a food distribution company, and Michele is a real estate agent. They love to cook, eat, spend time at home, travel, and spend time with their amazing kids and grandkids.
